Let's Get Spooky! - Mixed media canvas for Finnabair

Hello Sweeties,
Today I'm up on Finnabair's blog with a mixed-media canvas inspired by the monthly theme: Let's Get Spooky!

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

As the base for the background, I decided to use the Solar tissue paper. I used the Soft Gloss Gel to glue on the canvas. Then, I added a very thin layer of Heavy White Gesso as I wanted to see the pattern afterward. I added a design with the Rocket Science stencil and 3D Gloss Gel.

I primed the bat wings with Heavy Black Gesso and the other resin elements with Heavy White Gesso.

I painted the skull and the bones with the same Liquid Acrylic I used for the background. To alter the chains, I used the Rust Effect Paste set and some Old Silver wax.

I added some Vintage Silk wax to highlight the details of the bat's wings and the horns of the mountain sheep.

You are Art - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic's blog with a new mixed-media panel featuring a photo from @ArtHouseWhimsy from the A kind of Christmas set.

I primed the canvas board with white gesso before adding a design using paper paste. I also added some paper paste to the edges. When dry, I covered the design with clear crackle paste. The result is a barely visible and subtle design that reminds the wing.

I painted the background with Deep Turquoise and Prussian Blue liquid acrylic paints.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso and decided to emboss the Geo Panel with grunge embossing powder.

I painted the Flower Posie #4, the Poppy Heads, and the Flower Buds #1 with nude and magenta liquid acrylic.

For the Tea Leaves and the branches of the previous, I added some black to the nude-magenta mix to obtain a brown. I used this brown to add some shadow to the background.

To finish, I added some pink and turquoise glitter.

Always Dreamer - Album cover or layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a new project. I used the 6x8 paper as a base, so I can use my project as a layout, to cover my album or as a page for my album.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

I chose the 6x8 page that matched the B-side of Songs of Hope for my background.

I picked out some big Ephemera as the base of my composition.

I selected some laser-cut elements like the birdcage or the nest to add on the left side of the photo as well as a few Ephemera tickets.

On the right side, I also added some tickets and Wildflowers Laser Cut elements.

As you can see, I can place the 6x8 composition as part of a layout or as a cover for my album.

Shielded by strength - Mixed media canavs for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic's blog with a new mixed-media canvas.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

First, I covered the whole canvas with book pages with a gloss gel. Next, I added a design with the Geo Texture stencil and 3D Gloss Gel. When dry, I added a thin layer of white gesso. I kept it very light as I wanted to see the text and remove the gesso from the design with a baby wipe. I painted the background with black, Prussian blue, and umber liquid acrylic paints.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. I chose the biggest Moon and colored it with liquid acrylic to match the shield of the photo.

I used different shades of brown paints to color the Wildgrass #1, the Foliage #3 and #25, and the Fern Fronds.

I added a design to the Boho Skull with white heavy gesso and the Fossilised stencil. I painted the horns with black and burnt sienna paint and the skull with the same color with a hint of orange, but I diluted the colors with water.

For the Feather Charm #4, I used brown, black, orange, and Carmin paints.

To finish, I added some glitter.

Vintage Christmas - Layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a Xmas layout with a vintage feel.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

I chose a paper from the Krafty Garden collection: Java Explosion and worked on the B-side. I added a few Krafty garden rub-on transfers.

I die-cut some pines and holly branches in a watercolor paper with the Pine Holidays and the Pencil Line Holly framelits dies from Sizzix. As I wanted a vintage feel to my composition, I first colored all the die-cut elements with different shades of brown Magicals. When dry, I added a green color.
With the help of gliding glue, I covered the hollyberries with red glitter.

I selected a few Ticketed Ephemera from the Christmas Spectacular collection and aged them with brown ink to keep this vintage feel.
I chose a few Salt Nature's Bounty flowers and used brown ink to distress them.

On the top left corner of the layout, I added a few elements to remind the main composition .

To finish, I splattered red glitter.
