Lion Regal - Mixed media canvas for Finnabair BA

Hello Sweeties,

Today I’m up with mixed media canvas full of color. I could resist to play with all, nearly all, the new waxes.

First, I used the Manor House stencil to add a design to the background with both the Frosted Pearl Icing Paste and the Crushed Ice Jewel Effect Paste.

While the design was drying, I primed some gears with Black Heavy Gesso and the other elements with Clear Gesso. I just added some Honey and Red Flame waxes to the gears.

For the lion, I mostly used Black Gold and Honey, and Red flames to mane. For the wings, I used Honey, Coral, Red flame and Black Gold were the attached to the lion’s body.

For the frame, I started with Black Gold To add some contrast. I chose mostly cold colors: Cobalt, Moss Green, Sea Glass, and Acid. When I was happy with the result, I added a touch of Red Flame.

I chose similar colors of Liquid Acrylic to paint the background: Nude and Coral on the left side, Advocado and Deep turquoise for the right side. I used Ink Black to add some shadow.

To finish, Added some green gold glitter.

Cigar Box for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a box.

I glued all the elements to build the box. When done, I primed it with two layers of white gesso. I added a design with the Ledger stencil and light modeling paste to the top and the sides.

I selected different gears in size and shape and used a 3D gel to glue them to the box. When the gel was dry, I primed all the gears and the Rose leaves from the Alice collection with white gesso.

When the gesso was completely dry, I added brown paint with a lot of water to keep it neutral. Then I added a few flowers which I also painted.

To finish the composition, I just added metallic waxes.

Elisa - Layout for 49 and Market DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with another vintage layout. I chose again a family photo: this one of my great-grandmother, Elisa.

I chose the Paper n°4 from the Color Swatch Teal collection. After priming it with clear gesso, I added a design with the help of a stencil and crackle paste. When the paste was dry, I added a touch of brown to give everything a vintage look. I want to give the impression of an old and torn tapestry.

I selected some Ephemara that I added under the photo. I insert some pieces of cardboard in between to give some dimension.

I then added some tickets between the biggest Ephemera I've chosen.

Next, I selected some Laser-Cut Elements, mostly flowers and leaves to add between the papers, like dry flowers.

To finish, I added a few Essentials Textblend rub-ons in Pewter.

Anne Marie - Layout for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a vintage layout with a photo of one of my great aunts.

To begin, I primed the background with Clear Gesso. Next, I added a design with Floral #2 Stencil and Pearl Icing paste. When the paste was dry, I added some brown and black Distress inks to make the design pop up.

I covered the Ornat Circle #2 with embossing powder that I was careful not to melt down completely to obtain a non-even surface.

I primed all the chipboards I have selected with white gesso. Then I simply distressed the edges with black and brown inks.

I attached a few ephemera under the photo, and then I made a cluster with Spring Bloom #3, Wildflower #4, Foliage #25, and a couple Poppy Heads. I added a few white flowers to the composition which  I altered with Distress inks as they were too white.

I also included a Pocket Watch to remind the one concealed in her pocket. In the photo, we can definitely make out the chain.

To finish, I splattered the background with glitter mixed with gel medium and water.
