Steampunk Xmas Wreath for Finnabair

Hello Sweeties,

Here is my last publication for 2024 and I want to wish you all a Happy New Year.

I'm up on Finnabair's blog with a Steampunk wreath for Christmas.

I primed the Ornate Frame, the Steampunk Sparrow, and the Steampunk Wreath with White Heavy Gesso. For the gears, I used Black Heavy Gesso.

I coated the Sparrow with Gilding glue and left it to completely dry before covering it with Gold Metallic Flakes. Then, I added some green highlights with Malachite Green from the Limited Edition Precious Set and Avocado liquid acrylic paints.

I used the Rust Effect Pastes to alter all the gears: chipboard as well as resin without forgetting the ones from the sparrow. When they were dry, I added some Vintage Gold wax to highlight the details and the texture.

I painted the Ornate Frame with Powder Pink from the Limited Edition Sentimental Set. Then I added some shadows with Burnt Sienna and Ink Black, and I finished with Vintage Gold wax to add some light.
I painted the flowers of the chipboard wreath with Powder Pink and the leaves with Malachite Green.

I've die-cut some greenery on watercolor paper. I painted them with Malachite, Avocado, and Rose Powder acrylic paint. I added a few flowers as well.

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed-media canvas.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

I primed the canvas with white gesso before adding a design using the Lace stencil and paper paste. When dry, I used liquid acrylic paints to color the background.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. I painted the Leafy  Frame #2 and the Wildflower #5 with brown and black paints.

I chose a nude color for the Christmas Berries #1 and the Daisies #3 to remind the butterfly wings from the photo.

I cut a piece of the Lacey Ornament to add in the corner and painted it with white liquid acrylic mixed with a denim Magical.

I added a few flowers to the composition. To finish, I added some glitter.

Filled with hope and strength - Mixed media panel for 49 and maket

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market with a mixed-media panel created with the Moolite Garden collection.

 Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Flowered faces Winter)

I primed the canvas board with white gesso. Next, I added a design with a 3D Gloss Gel and a stencil. With dry, I painted the background to match the photo's background.

I tore two pieces of the Dreamy paper from the Moonlit Garden collection to glue on both sides of the canvas board.

I selected a few Ephemera Bits to add to the photo. I added a piece of cardboard between each element to add more dimension to the composition. I was careful to add the cardboard in the center of each Ephemera so I could insert more elements in between.

I chose a few Laser Cut Elements and Laser Cut Wildflowers that I added to the composition at different levels. I also added some Washi Postage stamps.

To finish, I added some Wishing Baubles.

Why stop dreaming? - Layout for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a layout.
Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (A December Dream)

I primed the paper with clear gesso before adding a design with the Starring Night stencil and 3G Gloss Gel. Before the gel dried, I sprinkled some clear glitter.

I primed all the chipboards I'd selected with white gesso and then covered them with White Pearl wax.

I added French Lavender wax on top of the  Christmas Berries #1.

I used the Old Denim wax to accent the middle of the Poinsettia #2 and the fruits of Foliage #22.

I added a few tags under the photo and layered them with the chipboards.

Flower Girl - Mixed media tag for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a tag.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

I chose the 9,5x20 cm tag from the Tag Medley set. I primed it with white gesso and added a design using the Floral stencil and light modeling paste. Next, I painted the background with different colors of liquid acrylic and mica powder until I was satisfied with the result.

I primed all the chipboards with black gesso. I used a 3D gloss gel to adhere them to the tag.

When everything was securely glued, I dry-brushed the chipboards with white gesso.

I colored the Wisteria, the Wildflowers #3, the Daisies #3, and the Designer Disc #10 with Nude liquid acrylic, Gold Rose and Celestial waxes.

I covered the Foliage #23 and the leaves of the Daisies #3 and Wildflowers #3 with Sage and White waxes.

Nature Lover - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today i'm up on Dusty Attic's blog with a new canvas about nature.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

I primed the canvas with white gesso as usual. Then, I used different pastes to cover the background to obtain an uneven surface. I used paper paste, modeling paste, and Light modeling paste. The paints will react differently with each paste, and I want to obtain this result. I layered different shades of green (Avocado, Emerald, and Lime Green) and black liquid acrylic paints.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso too. I painted the Strawberry #2 leaves with Avocado liquid acrylic. I mixed some carmine and crimson to obtain a lighter shade of the girl's pants to paint the strawberries and the center of the flowers.

I used lime and avocado to paint the Boho Feather to add some contrast.

As for the Dandelions, I just painted the flower stems with the avocado paint.

To finish, I added some glitter.
