Mixed media layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a layout featuring the Curators Botanical collection. I worked with another family photo.

As usual, the first thing I've done was to prime my paper with clear gesso. Next, I selected some elements from the Ephemera Pages and Bookplates set. I cut the biggest elements before gluing them to the background. When happy with my collage, I blended everything with a thin layer of white gesso.

Next, I added a design with a stencil and Plaster paste. When dry, I sprayed the collage with a brown ink.

I added some Postage Stamp washi tape here and there. I added some touches of color with different inks to match the colors of the stamps. I added also some Stitch washi tape as well in the corners of the layout.

I selected a few Curators Essential Remnant elements to add under the photo. I added also a few stamps from the Curators Botanical Laser Cut Elements, some metallic elements, and one big flower from the Marble Majestic Bouquet.

Next, I stamped randomly with the Rations stamp set.

To finish, I added some Curators Botanical rub-ons.

Hold on tight to your dreams - Mixed media canvas for Lindy's Gang DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Lindy's Gang blog with a new video tutorial where you will see how to make this mixed media canvas.

Basic process:
  1. Prime the canvas with white gesso;
  2. Cover the canvas with plaster and paper pastes;
  3. Die-cut branches and fir trees in a watercolor paper;
  4. Color the branches with Toadstool Taupe and while they are still wet, sprinkle them with Gimme Five Gold EP. Heat emboss;
  5. Color the fir trees with Fairy Garden Green and Green with Envy;

  6. Prepare 3 permanent paints with liquid fluid medium and a tiny amount of Magicals: Toadstool Taupe Magical, Fairy Garden Green Magical, and Dragonfly Denim;
  7. Use these permanent paints to color the background. Dry;
  8. Add a design to the background with a stamp and Gimme Five Gold EP. Heat emboss;

  9. Prime a resin frame with white gesso and paint it with the Denim Dragonfly paint.
  10. Use an Antiquing paste to age the frame;

  11. Color a few flowers with Gnome Berry Bordeaux;

  12. Glue all the elements with 3D matte gel;
  13. To finish, add some glitter.

I hope you will enjoy the video:
