Lost in thought - Mixed media canva for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I have a new mixed-media canvas to share with you.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Quintessential Serie 4)

I primed the canvas with white gesso and then covered it with Paper paste. When dry, I extended the wall from the photo with Light Modeling paste.

I painted the background with Ultramarine, Purple, and Emerald liquid acrylics to match the photo's background. With the aid of the Gilding Glue, I created a random pattern of small circles on the upper part of the canvas and then covered them with gold Metallic Flakes.

I hesitated to keep the chipboards as they were but finally decided to paint them. So I primed all the chipboards with white gesso and used a tiny bit of Burnt Sienna and Ink Black liquid acrylics to color them. Then I added some Vintage Gold wax.

I added some shadow to the edges of the canvas and along the "wall" with Ink Black paint.

I used the Heavy Body Gel to combine all the elements of the composition and decided to add a design to the background with the

To finish, I added gold  glitter

Get lost to find yourself - Layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a new layout featuring the Wanderlust Explorer collection.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Quintessial Blue)

I selected Solid Sheet 3 as the background. For the base of the composition, I chose to work on a page from the 6x8 pack (Scenic Route). The paper's colors were so similar to those of the photo that I decided to add a piece of a darker color (Voyage Log).

I selected some Die-Cut frames, stamps, and compass roses to add under the photo and stamps.

I chose a few Laser Cut elements as well like the luggage, the map, the compass, the passport, the camera ... The details of those laser-cut elements are just amazing.

To keep the composition romantic, I selected a few laser-cut flowers.

I selected two Chipboard Words as my title.

As always the fact that I used a 6x8 page means that I can keep the layout as a page for my Art Journal.

Whisper of Yesterday - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I have a new mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic to share with you.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Quintessential)

I primed the canvas with white gesso before applying paper paste and light modeling paste. The two pastes will react differently when painted and it's the effect I'm looking for. I painted the background with Umber and Burnt Sienna liquid paints.

I primed all the gears and cogs with black gesso. For the Suitcase, I used white gesso.

I used metallic waxes (White Gold, Aged Brass, and Honey) to color the Industrial Gears, the Clockworks, the Designer Disc #15, and the Wharehouse Lights.

I added some light with the Celestial wax and some oxidation with the Sea Glass wax. I decided to paint the suitcase the same color as the girl's clothes.

I added some Sea Glass wax to the border of the canvas to remind the turquoise from the photo.
Tp finish, I added some glitter.

Dark Romance - A Valnetine's canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I'm on Dusty Attic's blog with a mixed-media canvas. Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so here it is....

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Dark Romance)

I covered the canvas with an uneven layer of Paper paste. I painted the top part with different shades of red to obtain a red similar to the one in the photo and the lower part in the grey.

I primed all the chipboard with Black Gesso. I

I covered the Madalan #2 with Graphite paste. It give a beautiful effect: a shiny and gritty black with silver sparkle.

I used only waxes in different shades of silver or white to color the other chipboards. For the Foliage #27band the Dandelion, I used the Old Silver, White Pearl for the Foliage #23 and Celestial for the small Tea Leaves and the Wildflowers #7.

I didn't want the flowers to be white but a shade similar to the woman's skin. So I used the Créme Brulee Cream Magical and added some Snazzy Sparkle.

To finish, I added silver glitter.

Let your light shine - Hoop layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a hoop layout and the beautiful Starlight Dreams collection.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

I used the embroidery hoop to draw the template on my paper, then cut it out with a 1 cm larger size. I then pinked the extra centimeter and folded it to attach the paper to the embroidery hoop.

I selected a few Laser Cut elements like the moon, the beautiful wing, and the frames. I glued the frames directly to the background, as well as the moon, but I added 3D foam under the wing to give some dimension to the composition. Inside each frame, I added some washi tape.

I chose some Die-Cut Elements that I added to the composition, and the title from the Chipbiard words. I added some Epoxy Coated Stickers too. I rubbed on a constellation and some stars, then I added some Epoxy stars on the top.

To finish, I added some glitter.

Dreamer of dreams - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm on Dusty Attic's blog with a new mixed-media canvas.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Boho Chic)

I primed the canvas and the chipboard with white gesso. Next, I covered the background with both light modeling and paper pastes. When painted, the two pastes will react differently creating the look of a rough wall.

I painted the background with liquid acrylic paints to reproduce the colors of the photo background. I used mostly Umber at the top. For the bottom, I added several layers of Umber, Malachite Green, Burnt Sienna, and Ink Black for the shadow.

At the top, I used the Circuit Circle stencil to add some circles with the light modeling paste. When dry, I painted them with Malachite Green to remind the ones of the photo and added shadows.

I painted the Floral Fantasy chipboard with Coral, Malachite Green, and Deep Turquoise. I used Malachite Green for the Seedlings and the Rose Leaves, Coral for the Dandelion, and Pink Quartz for the Lemon Blossoms.

I adhered the Floral Fantasy to a piece of cardboard to create added dimension. then, I added the flower cluster. I added shadows around the composition and white splatters.

To finish, I added glitter.

Stay forever young - Art journal page for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a new page for my art journal. I used the latest collection Toddler Time.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Little Mischief Makers)

I chose a sheet from the 6x8 paper set as my background.

I selected a couple of Ephemera tags as the biggest elements of the cluster. Then I added a few "good point cards". I have no idea how you call them in English, so I translate directly from the way we call them In French :)

I added some tickets from the Laser Cut Elements and Ephemera Bits.

I added a cat and a plane from the Laser Cut Icons on the top left and bottom right corner.

As you can see, the page can be used to make a layout as well.

Time stood still - Mixed media canvas for Dusty ATtic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media canvas.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy (Making a spectacle)

First, I primed the canvas and all the chipboards with white gesso

I covered the canvas with texture paste. While the paste was still dry, I glued and pressed all the chipboard in the paste. I wanted to have the impression that the elements were embedded in a wall.

When everything was completely dry, I painted the background with Burnt Sienna and Ochre liquid acrylic paints with a lot of water. You must be careful when you use the paper paste as it once again becomes wet. So allow it to dry completely again before the next step.

The next step was to paint the chipboard. I used Burnt Sienna and Ink Black. I accented the color of the gears to make them stand out. I added some shadows around the clusters to add depth to the composition.

To finish, I added black glitter.
