Soul Whisper - Mixed media panel for Finnabair

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm on Finnabair's blog with a new mixed-media canvas board inspired by the monthly theme: Creatures of the Night.

Photo: @ArtHouseWhimsy

I cut the Star Menagerie paper from the Stargazer collection to the canvas size and used Soft Matte Gel to glue it. Next, I covered the edges with Paper Paste. When dry, I painted the Paper Paste with different Liquid Acrylic paints to obtain the background colors of the photo.

I covered the cogs and the chains with Rust Effect Paste.  When the paste was dry, I highlighted the details with the Old Silver wax.

I primed the light bulbs with White Heavy Gesso and covered their thread with the Rust effect Paste. Next, I covered the light bulbs with White Pearl wax and highlighted the filaments with the Honey wax.

I primed the Grungy Frame with Black Heavy Gesso and highlighted the detail with  the White Pearl wax.
I added a small skull at the top of the frame. I primed the skull with White gesso and highlighted the details with watered down Ink Black liquid acrylic paint.

I used the Heavy body gel to glue all the elements of the composition.

To finish, I added a design with the stencil Book of Numbers and the Rust Affect Paste.

Fre Spirit - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed-media canvas.

After priming the canvas with white gesso, I glued crumpled kraft paper to add texture. Next, I covered the paper with white gesso and added white crackle paste. I leave the canvas to dry naturally to allow the crackles to appear. I used black gesso and a lot of water to color the background.

I primed all the cog chipboards with black gesso. I embossed the Fans with a silver grunge embossing powder. I covered the Jumbo Cogs, Mini Cogs, Cogs and Gears, ... with Graphite paste, then black gesso. I highlighted the details with Old Silver wax.

To alter the Cog Cluster and the Insdustrial Border #2 I used an old tip. I covered the chipboards with white glue, then with black gesso. When heated, bubbles will appear and give the texture of wrought iron. I highlighted the details with Brushed iron wax.

I primed the Leaves #5 and Mini Foliage #5 with white gesso. I used black and brown Distress Inks to color them.

I glued all the elements of the composition with a 3D gel. I added shadows around the composition with a mix of black and brown paints.

To finish, I added silver glitter.

Remember - Layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a layout I realized with the Vintage Orchard collection.

For the background, I chose to work on a white cardstock. I selected some texts and splatter rub-on transfers from the Blendable and the Essentials set. To place them properly, I  cut the rub-ons I wanted to add and positioned them under my composition. It means that I make the composition first, then add the rub-ons and remove everything.

For the composition, I want to give the impression of a stack of discarded papers and documents left on a desk corner, nothing neat. So I selected first a couple of Stacked Frames and a few Ephemera Bits to add under them.

To remind the leave crown of the boy in the photo, I added a few leaves from the Wildflower Laser Cut. I selected a few tickets from the Laser Cut Elements as well.

As I explained previously, once I was happy with the composition, I placed the rub-ons I'd selected and then removed all the elements of the composition. When the rub-ons were in place, I stacked all the elements again, but this time I glued some cardboard between the composition components to add some dimension.

To finish, I added a couple of Acetate Elements.

Be your beautiful self - Layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market with a layout realized with both the Krafty Garden and the Color Swatch Teal collections. Again, I used a photo from @ArtHouseWhimsy.

First, I've selected some background rub-on transfers from the Krafty Garden Blendable and some Color Swatch Teal flowers to add to the Vintage Symphony sheet from the Krafty Garden collection.

I chose some Ephemera from collections to add under the photos. To add some dimension, I added some cardboard in between.

I colored the Ivory Royal Spray with a teal magical to match the photo's color and a few laser cut flowers and leaves.

I also added some rub-ons on the ephemera.

To finish, I added some transparent glitter.
