Hold on ... - Miced media panel for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media panel.

I've selected a piece of paper that I tore in two parts, but before gluing them on the panel, I added a design with clear crackle paste and the Lace stencil. I let the paste dry naturally.

I primed all the chipboard with white gesso before adding any paint. I painted the Small Scroll #2 in Ultramarine and Purple paints, then added Aged Brass wax to remind the color of the peacock's wings.

For the Foliage #23, I used the Umber color. The Foliage #27 and Foliage #7 were painted with Emerald and Ochre. Finally, I painted the Forest fern with Ochre and Lime Green to remind the color of the peacock's head and upper wings.

In the meantime, the crackles of the paste have appeared, it's time to finish the background. First, I glued my torn papers and inked the edges to give them a distress look. When done, I painted the design with green and brown liquid acrylic paints

I painted the Decorative Frame #2 with Umber, then I added White Gold wax.
When happy with the result, I glued all the elements of the composition with a 3D gel.

To finish, I added some effect paste, mica, and glitter.

Just Because - Mixed media panel for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I am up on Dusty Attic blog with a new panel inspired by the vibrant color of the June color combo.

Here is the gorgeous color combo for June

I added two designs with the Paper paste with the Ledger Stencil and the Circuit Stencil. When the Paper paste was dry, I added the white crackle paste. I was careful to remove the crackle paste on top of the design as I want it to be seen.

While the crackle paste was drying, I primed the chipboard with white gesso. I painted them with liquid acrylic paints. The Foliage #7 was painted in Violet, the Foliage Cluster #3 with Nude and Tiger Orange, and the String Frame and the Word Disc #1 in Coral.

I painted the background with the different colors I used to paint the chipboard.

When happy with the background, I cut the largest String Frame in two and add the title at one of the ends. Next, I added the flowers and the different foliage.

To finish the composition, I added some glitter.

Green Lady - Mixed media canvas for Lindy's Gang

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Lindy's Gang blog with a new canvas. I worked with a photo from Denis Chekanov;

I applied an uneven layer of Paper Paste and Modeling Paste on the canvas. When dry, I colored it with Ponderosa Pines Olive, C'est La Vie Cerise, Mystic Malachite, and Black Hole Black.  As you know, Lindy's Gang inks are water-reactive. It means that every time you applied a new color or media, the colors will react and the result will be different. To make the background colors permanent, I simply applied a fixative. Now I will be able to apply any color or media I want without affecting the background.

I embossed the Mandala with Silence is Golden Chunky EP.

I've die-cut some leaves in watercolor paper and colored them with Buccaneer Bay Blue, Mystic Malachite, Ponderosa Pines Olive. I added some shine to the flowers with the Blazing Sun Glitz Spritz. Unfortunately, you can't see it in the photos.

When the background was completely dry, I added a design with a stencil and a Clear Crackle paste missed with Antique Gold and Gleaming Gold. The result looks like a yellow amber.  Next, I glued some Gold Metallic flakes which I covered with Clear Crackle paste as well.

When everything was glued, I added some glitter to finish the composition.

Here is the step-by-step video:

Captured Moment - Mixed media layout for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a layout inspired by the pink colors of the October combo. This color combo was a true challenge for me as all my friends know that I'm not a pink person. Well, I remember this photo taken a few years back of a Hummingbird Hawk Moth. It's a butterfly with a very long trunk that allows it to forage on flowers hovering like hummingbirds. As you can imagine, they are very hard to photograph.

Here the color combo for October:

Before priming the background, I stamped randomly with black Archival ink and a text stamp. Next, I made a paste with 3D Gloss Gel, Cotton Candy Pink Magical, and pink glitter. I added a design with the Lace stencil using both White Gold Icing paste and the pink paste.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. I embossed the Framed Journal Box with Silence is Golden EP.

To color the other chipboards, I used liquid acrylic paints. For the Foliage #6 and the Laurel Sprigs, I used Burnt Sienna, Magenta, and Nude.

I colored the Flower Stamens with the Nude acrylic paint. Finally, I used Nude and Burnt Sienna to paint the Designer Disc #10.

I glued all the chipboards with 3D Matte gel starting with the frame, then the leaves, the flower stamens, and pink flowers.
To finish the layout, I added glitters.

Dragonfly - Mixed media tag for Lindy's Gang DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Lindy's Gang blog with a new tag inspired by the October color combo.

Color Guidelines: Warm Grey - Mint - Sage (Green Grey)

 Challenge Ingredient = Crackle

I glued different kinds of paper (book page, kraft, tissue paper) and tissue tape on the tag which I primed with clear gesso. Next, I added a design with a stencil and modeling paste. I added some white crackle paste as well.

When the pastes were dry, I colored them with Ponderosa Pines Olive, Steel Shimmer, and Black Hole Black magicals.

I die cut a few leaves in a watercolor paper. I colored them with Ponderosa Pines Olive, Outer Aqua, Snazzy Sparkle, and Steel Shimmer. I added some shine to the flowers with the Steel Shimmer.

I primed with black gesso a resin dragonfly and a resin frame. I colored the frame with green and silver waxes. I used the Snazzy Sparkle to add some shimmer to the wings of the dragonfly and colored the whole dragonfly with Old Silver, White Pearl and Lucky Emerald waxes.

When everything was glued to my liking, I added some glitter.
