Dream Big - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with my second project for this month: a mixed media canvas.

I covered the canvas with paper paste. I didn't bother to have an even layer. When the paste was completely dry, I painted it with liquid acrylic paints that I made run with water. The top was painted with Ink Black. For the bottom part, I used different shades of blue liquid acrylic paints until I obtain the same blue color as the photo. When the paints were still wet, I added White Titanium to add more depth and Prussian Blue.

I primed all the chipboards with black gesso. I covered the Mandala #1 and the Word Disc #1 with Tiger Eyes Jewel paste to remind the color of the hair of the girl. I just added some gold with Vintage Gold wax.

For the Spider Chrysanthemum, I just added Mystic Turquoise wax to add a touch of blue to the upper part of the canvas. I used the Firebird wax for the Fern Fronds.

I painted the Leaves #5 with Unicorn Hair Sparks and rub them with Vintage Gold wax.

I decide to turn the title to black to add more contrast with the Ink Well paint and rubbed it gently with White Gold wax.

To finish the composition, I added some glitter, sequin, and microbeads

Bright and colorful - Mixed media panel for 49 and Market DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and blog with a new mixed media panel.

I added a design with a stencil with black gesso. When it was dry, I painted the background with liquid acrylic paints to match the photo's colors. I removed unwanted splatters and brush marks with white impasto.

Next, I added on the edges of the area I'd painted rub-ons. I mainly chose splatters, text, and palettes in the same colors as the paints from the "6x8 Spectrum Gardenia Extra Rub-On Transfers" and "Essential Text blend Rub-On Transfers" in Salsa, Eggplant, and Fern colors.

When happy with the result, I selected some "Spectrum Gardenia Filmstrip" to add under the photo. I disposed them to kind of frame the photo.

Next, I selected some tickets and stamps from the Spectrum Gardenia "General" and "Essential" Laser Cut Elements in various colors and designs. I arranged them at opposite corners.

In the same corners, I added Kismet Wildflowers along with Spectrum Gardenia "Floral" and "Leaves" Laser Cut Elements. I made another cluster with the same elements on the opposite side of the main composition

To finish, I added different colors of glitter to match the overall tones.

Just Because - Mixed media panel for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I am up on Dusty Attic blog with a new panel inspired by the vibrant color of the June color combo.

Here is the gorgeous color combo for June

I added two designs with the Paper paste with the Ledger Stencil and the Circuit Stencil. When the Paper paste was dry, I added the white crackle paste. I was careful to remove the crackle paste on top of the design as I want it to be seen.

While the crackle paste was drying, I primed the chipboard with white gesso. I painted them with liquid acrylic paints. The Foliage #7 was painted in Violet, the Foliage Cluster #3 with Nude and Tiger Orange, and the String Frame and the Word Disc #1 in Coral.

I painted the background with the different colors I used to paint the chipboard.

When happy with the background, I cut the largest String Frame in two and add the title at one of the ends. Next, I added the flowers and the different foliage.

To finish the composition, I added some glitter.
