Skate to work - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic's blog with a mixed canvas.

To begin I added a design with Modeling paste and a stencil. When dry, I painted the canvas with a Cobalt Blue Impasto.

I primed all the chipboard and the metallic flowers with white gesso. Next, I mixed red, yellow, and gold paints to obtain a dark yellow that I used to paint the chipboard and the flowers.

I dry-brushed the leftover of the orange paint I had made to highlight the design, then Firebird wax.

When everything was glued to my liking, I dry-brushed some white paint over the embellishments.

Next, I added a brown blue wax to the Wildflower #5 to remind the blue of the background. I added Gold and Firebird waxes on the other chipboard.

To finish, I added some glitter.

Those who don't believe ... - Art Journal page for 49 and Market DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with an Art Journal page. It has been a while since I've made an Art Journal page. I have this Memory Journal calling for me. I decided it was time for me to create something in it. I love fantasy books and movies, so there is no wonder that I love the universe of Carnival Row. And here it is.

I started to layer different colors of green paint on the background with a brayer.

Next, I glued a few pieces of Eucalyptus Collage Sheets. I added Spectrum Sherbet Tidal Wave rub-ons around the papers. I also added some music notes rub-ons from the Essentials Music Blends to remind the story of one of the characters.

To finish the background, I layered some White Pearl metallic paint to tone down the color and blend everything together.

I selected a few Ephemera Bits from the Vintage Artistry Tranquility collection to add under the photo. Of course, I had to add to some Filmtrips as the page was about a movie.

This Memory Journal is awesome. the quality of the paper in the notebook is perfect. And it won't be the last page you will see! Keep in mind that this is a limited edition, so feel free to buy one while there is one.

Be your beautiful self - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media canvas inspired by the beautiful colors of the March color combo.

Here is the color combo.
Don't forget to play with us Dusty FANattics | MARCH Mood Board entries

I covered the canvas with Paper and Light Modeling pastes. I painted the background with Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic. I kept it very light. When dry, I added randomly some metallic flakes with the help of gilding glue. Then, I added clear crackle paste and let dry naturally. Next, I added some Ink Black liquid acrylic to highlight the crackles.

I primed all the chipboard with white gesso before altering them. I painted the Foliage #1 with Ink Black and Burnt Sienna. I want them to be dark. When dry, I used the Stained Wood wax to matify them, then some White gold wax.

I painted lightly the Foliage Cluster #2 and the Poppy Heads with Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic. For the Spider Chrysanthemum, I mixed Brown Sienna and Nude liquid acrylic.

I painted the Antique Frame with Ink Black paint, then White Gold wax. I covered the inside of the frame with Metallic Flakes, then with Clear Crackle paste to mimic a mirror.

To finish, I added some glitter.
