Natural Moth - Mixed media panel for Finnabair

Hello Sweeties,

If you have been following me, you should have noticed that I love using flowers in my project. It has always been a reel challenge for me to not use them. Well, it's mostly because I always feel very inspired by the Nature around us: the colors, the shapes,  ... It seems just normal to use natural elements in projects as well.

To start I primed the MDF base with white gesso which I covered with a book page. I covered it with a thin layer of white gesso as I wanted to see the print. Next, I added a design with the Victorian Tiles stencil and paper paste.

I primed all the elements with white gesso. I find it easier this way, but you can prime when they are glued. It's really up to you. I started my composition with the biggest elements. Here it's obviously the frame, the handle, and the flowers. When those were in place, I added the natural elements: poppy pods and alder fruits.

I continue with more minor elements like the watches and the leaves. To finish the composition, I added different sizes of Art Stones. They are really great for filling empty spaces.

I used liquid acrylic paints to color the composition. I used different shades of green and blue as well as a little touch of purple. I added several layers of paint.

When I was happy with the colors I highlight the details with Bronze Age and White Gold waxes.

To finish I added some Magic Potion Unicorn paste and glitter.

Atlas - Album cover for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic's blog with an album cover, a gift for a friend.

I covered the Geo Panel #1with Graphite paste. I cut out the Number Panel two 9 which I embossed which I embossed with Chrome Doesn't Pay!

I selected gears from different sets like Jumbo Cogs #2, Gears #1 by nuneka, Mini Cogs, and Designer Disc #15. I chose also the Industrial Cluster #1.

I used a technique I haven't used for a very long time to alter the Jumbo Cog #2 and the Designer Disc #15. First I covered them with black gesso, then I added PVA glue with I heated until the glue bubbled. I covered the glue with black gesso and heat again; When cold, I highlight the details with silver wax. You can see the step-by-step here.

I decided to cover the other cogs with silver Metallic Flakes to add some contrast. I used Soot Antiquing wax to tone down the shine.

I glued the different chipboards with 3D Gel.

To finished I added a few screw heads.

Un jour à la fois - Mixed media panel for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm on Dusty Attic blog with a mixed media panel inspired by our beautiful August mood board. I chose another vintage photo from my postcard collection.

Isn't it lovely?

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. Then, then I covered a canvas cardboard with a paper which I covered with clear gesso.

Next, I started to build my composition. I started with the Cherry Blossom and the Industrial Cluster #7. I continued by adding smaller elements like Botanic Mix elements, then some Cogs.

I sprinkle the composition with mika powders and sprayed with water. Next, I mixed mica powders with lliqui acrylic fluid to make them permanent. I painted the chipboards with these homemade paints.

Next, I highlighted the details with Old Silver and White Gold waxes. I added splatters of the darker color.

To finish, I added glitter

Stay Fearless - Mixed media panel for 49 and Market DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a new mixed media panel.

I glued a strip of the Curators Happiness 4" Fabric tape to the panel which I covered with a thin layer of white gesso. Then, I added rub-ons from the 12x12 Curators Botanical on the limit between the fabric tape and the canvas. Next, I added a design with Paper paste and a stencil.

I selected Ephemera Bits, Remnants and Laser cut Elements from the Curators' collections. You can mix them all together.

I colored the background with Long John's Silver before gluing all the papers under the photos. I colored a few Rustic Blooms with the same ink whichI slipped between all the Ephemera as if they were dried flowers.

I added some Purple paint on the background to remind the purple stamps from the Curators Botanical rub-ons.

To finish, I added some Magic Potion Unicorn paste.
