Beauty is everywhere - Mixed media panel for Dusty attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media panel, inspired by the February color combo. I must confess that I stick to the purple and the light blue.

Here is the colorful February color combo.

I glued some collage sheets on the canvas board. Next, I added a design with paper paste and a stencil.  Finally, I added white crackle paste. When everything was dry, I painted the background with different acrylic paints to match the colors of the photo I have chose.

I primed all the chipboard with white gesso. I covered the ATC Frame #5 with the Sterling Foundry wax. Then I added Denim Blue wax to give it a blue tone, then Soot Antiquing wax to aged it.

I sprayed the Floral Corner with Open Arms Amethyst, then covered it with UTEE. The ink make like bead of color under neath. I sprayed again the ink, then heat the UTEE one more time. The result is a marble effect.

I painted the branch with a mix of Aubergine Impasto and Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic paint. For the Tea Leaves, I used Aubergine and Titanium White, then Old Silver wax.

I select a few Nature's Bounty flowers that I colored with the Open Arms Amethyst. I want them to be darker as they were in the shadow side of the photo. I used the White Pearl wax to add some light and dark brown liquid acrylic to add shadow.

To finish, I added glitter.

Get lost in the moment - Mixed media panel for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a new mixed media panel. I chose a photo from Outlander, I've been a fan of the series long before this story was adapted for television.

I selected some papers from the Eucalyptus Collage Sheets. I tore the papers then I glued them on a canvas board. I added some Lagoon and Mariner Essential Textblends Rub-On Transfers around the collage. I covered everything with clear gesso.
I added a design with a stencil and clear crackle paste. I want the design to be light.

I selected some Ephemera Bits from the Vintage Artistry Tranquility collection to add under the photo. To add more interest to the biggest element, the envelope, I added a few Washi Stickers.

I added a lace From the Laser Cut Elements under the envelope as well as the frame. In between the Ephemera, I added some stamps from the Color Swatch Eucalyptus Tickets.

I colored the Ivory Royal Spray in teal to match the colors of the papers and Ephemera I have selected.

I colored the design with the same teal color and a little bit of sepia antiquing wax to blend the background.

To finish I added some glitter.

Marine Mechanicals - Diorama for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new marine diorama.

I primed the Porthole with black gesso. I primed the two parts of the porthole with black gesso. I added a piece of acrylic between the two pieces of the porthole. Next, I painted it with Silver Spoon acrylic paint. Next, I used the Rust Effect pastes set to alter the porthole.

I built a box that I covered with white crackle paste. When dry, I colored it with Prussian Blue liquid acrylic paints.

I added a piece of polystyrene at the bottom covered with 3D Gloss gel. While the gel was still wet, I added some sand to mimic the sea bed.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso and the resin elements with clear gesso. I used liquid acrylic paints to color them and waxes to highlight the details. I covered The Cogs and the Pipe with Rust Effect paste. Next, I added some Brushed Iron wax. I cut the Pipes into pieces which I glued on the side of the box.

I used a wooden skewer to create an axis between the biggest gear which was glued on the bottom and different sizes of gears. I added the other gears at the front bottom.

I painted the sea elements with different colors of liquid acrylic paints. I painted the Angler fish with ochre paint, then with diluted silver paint. I glued a piece of toothpick behind all the chipboards to

I added a few LEDs around the box and I made sure some of the LEDs reach the Industrial Globes I have glued to the ceiling.

Old Town - Finnabair Brand Ambassodor

Hello Sweeties,

What I like about all towns was the fact that all the professions were clearly identified. They have all these beautiful signs in wrought iron above the door. Even if the houses of my little town are not usual it’s what I’ve in mind when I created it. For each house, I chose to represent a profession: the hunter, the witch doctor, the plumber, and the miller.

I primed all the wood houses with black gesso, then I added a design on the back with the Documented stencil and modeling paste.

To do that, I selected different moulds to decorate the houses as well as small roses. When everything was in place and to my liking, I primed everything with black gesso.

I covered the resin elements with Green and Blue Patina waxes, then I highlighted the details with Aged Brass wax. I added blue and turquoise Mica to the background and to make them permanent I sprayed with a mix of water and Liquid Fluid Medium. I mixed a gold mica with the Liquid Fluid Medium to add a gold accent to the roses.

I die cut some leaves in kraft paper and colored them with Aged Brass wax. I mixed the blue Mica with Clear wax to make my own wax to add a blue accent to the leaves.
