Don't Go ... - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new panel canvas inspired by the beautiful February Mood Board.

Here is the lovely February mood board

I covered the canvas with Fabric Tape which I painted with white gesso to tone down the text. Next, I added some Paper paste and Modeling paste randomly to add some texture, but I didn't cover the whole canvas.

When everything was dry, I painted the canvas with liquid acrylic paints. Next, I used a stencil and gilding glue to add some gold Metallic Flakes. Then I covered the Metallic Flakes with Clear Crackle paste.

I primed the "Ferns", the "Foliage #23", and the "Mystic Flourish" with white gesso. I painted the leaves and flourish with green paint and added a touch of white gold wax.

For the "Window & Shutter" and the "Brick Wall Border", I used the Linen Impasto to color them. Next, I used Ochre and Old White waxes.

I added black paint and white gold wax to highlight the crackles. To finish I added gold glitter.

The Dragonfly's Secret - Mixed media box for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media project: an altered cigar box.

First I primed the box with black gesso. I cut a piece of the "Underground Network", which will be the base of the composition. Next, I added some floral resin elements, I continued with "Jumbo Cogs" and "Cogs #1". I added some "Wildflower #6", "Foliage #13", and "Flowers Posies". I finished the composition with a resin dragonfly.

When I was happy with my composition, I painted everything with black gesso. I made sure everything was perfectly dry and nothing was moving. I dry-brushed everything with Linen paint and dried it again.

I continued with liquid acrylic paints in crimson, purple, and nude. And I dried again before dry brushing Jade Impasto. I dried everything again.

I continued with Lime Green and Carmin liquid acrylic paints and dried them again. As the background is black, even with very bright colors, the whole composition is still very dark.

For the next step, I added some metallic accents with waxes. They will help to reveal all the details not only of the resin elements but of the chipboards as well.

To finish, I added some glitter and Golden Dragon paste.

Mixed media layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a layout featuring the Curators Botanical collection. I worked with another family photo.

As usual, the first thing I've done was to prime my paper with clear gesso. Next, I selected some elements from the Ephemera Pages and Bookplates set. I cut the biggest elements before gluing them to the background. When happy with my collage, I blended everything with a thin layer of white gesso.

Next, I added a design with a stencil and Plaster paste. When dry, I sprayed the collage with a brown ink.

I added some Postage Stamp washi tape here and there. I added some touches of color with different inks to match the colors of the stamps. I added also some Stitch washi tape as well in the corners of the layout.

I selected a few Curators Essential Remnant elements to add under the photo. I added also a few stamps from the Curators Botanical Laser Cut Elements, some metallic elements, and one big flower from the Marble Majestic Bouquet.

Next, I stamped randomly with the Rations stamp set.

To finish, I added some Curators Botanical rub-ons.
