Be Fearless - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed media canvas. Again, I used a photo from @ArtHouseWhimsy.

To begin, I covered the canvas with an uneven layer of paper paste. I didn't wait for the paste to be dry before I added some gilding glue here and there with a brush.

While the background was drying, I primed all the chipboards and the resin elements with white gesso.

When the background was completely dry, I covered the gilding glue with gold Metallic Flakes. And then I painted the background with liquid acrylic paints. When dry, I added a thin layer of clear crackle paste in some places.

I painted the Wheat #3, Wildgrass #1, Foliage #25, and Botanic Mix #3 chipboards with a mix of Umber and Titanium White liquid acrylic paints. I used the same colors to paint the resin skulls.

I used Prussian Blue and Umber paints for the Moon #2 and the Postage Stamps, Prussian Blue for the Geo Tribal Motif #2. And for the Dreamcatchers, I chose to paint them in black.

To finish, I added gold glitter.

The Flower Garden - Layout for 49 and Market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a new layout made withthe Krafty Garden collection.

I selected for my background the bonus page from the Krafty Garden 12x12 collection pack that you can find at the back of the cover page. I cut it 2cm (approximately 3/4") and distressed the edges. I aligned it on the left bottom corner of Paper 5 from the Solid Pack and added some Laser Cut lace here and there.

I chose a few Frames stacked together to add under photo.

Next, I selected some Ephemera Bits and Laser Cut elements to add under the photo stack. I added some cardstock between the ephemera to add dimension to the composition.

I added a few Salt Nature's Bounty flowers on both sides of the photo.  I selected a few Laser Cut and Acetate flowers.

I added some Epoxy Baubles and splattered a mix of gold glitter and diluted soft gel to finish.

Dream a little dream - Mixed media panel

Hello Sweeties,

Today I have a mixed media panel realised with the Stargazer paper collection from 7 Dots Studio designed by Finnabair. I used a photo made with @ArtHouseWhimsy designs and photo.

I glued the Star Menagerie paper on a canvas board, then covered it with clear gesso. I added two designs: the first with Honey wax and the "Rocket Science" stencil, and for the second, I used the "Read My Letter" stencil and the Frosting Pearl Icing paste

I selected some tags as well as some paper from the 6x8 paper pad to add under the photo.

I altered the resin butterflies with Black Gold and Old silver waxes and added a few flowers on the side.

The title came from the Word stickers.

To finish, I splattered gold glitter mixzd with dulited soft gel

Steampunk Gun - Alter toy for Finnabair

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm on Finnabair's blog for the monthly Brand Ambassador theme. This month we have to alter a toy. I chose a water gun.

First, I covered the water gun with Soft Matte gel to have a first layer. Then, I primed the plastic water gun with Black Heavy Gesso twice.

I selected some cogs from different moulds. I used Heavy Body Gel to glue them. I primed the cogs with Black Heavy Gesso.

I colored the cogs and some parts of the water gun with Green and Blue Patina waxes. When they were dry, I rubbed some Aged Brass wax.

For other parts, I used Black Gold and Celestial waxes.

Hold on tight to your dreams - Mixed media panel for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed-media panel. I used a photo from @ArtHouseWhimsy.

First I glued some collage paper on the canvas board with soft gel. I added a design with the stencil and 3D Gloss Gel. Then I primed everything with diluted white gesso to blend everything together.

When everything was dry, I painted the background with a purple liquid acrylic paint. When dry, I dry brush the whole background with white gesso to tone down the color and highlight the designs.

I primed all the chipboards I've selected with white gesso.  I used the mate Sage wax to color the Rose Leaves and the Leaves #5 with a tiny bit of Honey wax.

I used the Honey wax to color the Botanic Mix #6, the Mini Birdhouse, and the Wheat #2. To add some depth I add Black gold wax on the edge of the Birdhouse and the Wheat #2.

When everything was dry, I painted the background with a purple liquid acrylic paint. When dry, I dry brush the whole background with white gesso to tone down the color and highlight the designs.

To finish, I add gold glitter.

Whisper - Mixed media panel for 49 and market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a mixed media panel. I chose a photo from @ArtHouseWhimsy and the sunny Color Swatch Ochre collection.

I primed the canvas board with white gesso. Then I added a design with a stencil and light modeling paste. Unfortunately, you cannot see the design as most of it finishes to be under the composition! I used different shades of light brown Magicals to color the design.

I ripped several strips of paper from Paper 1 and Paper 2 from the Color Swatch Ochre collection. I glued on each side of the canvas.

I selected some Ephemera from both the Color Swatch Ochre collection and the Krafty Garden, as well as some Krafty Garden Acetate elements. I started the composition with the largest elements and finished with the smaller ones. I added a small composition on the opposite side.

I selected some Krafty Garden Wildflowers laser cut to add around the main composition.

I added two dragonflies that I made with the help of the Engraved Wings set from Sizzix.

To finish, I added gold glitter.

See possibility everywhere - Canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new mixed-media canvas.

First, I glued a few scraps of collage paper on the left side of the canvas with a soft gel. I covered the right side of the canvas with white gesso and the collage paper with clear gesso, as I wanted the script to be seen. When everything was dry, I added a design with the Floral Stencil #2 and paper paste. With my pallet knife, I smeared the paper paste carefully on the right side.

When everything was completely dry, I painted the canvas with a black liquid acrylic paint watered down. Next, I used two shades of grey mica to add shine to the background. I used the darker one on the right side and the lighter on the left, again to allow the script of the collage paper to be seen.

I primed the filmstrip #2 with black gesso and the rest of the chipboards with white gesso. I just distressed the edges of the flowers with black ink.

I started the composition with the larger elements: the Filmstrip #2. I cut the Wildflower #5 into smaller elements to add under the photo along with the Daisy #3. Next, I add, the Christmas Berries #1 and the Wildflower #5.

To finish, I added silver glitter.

Trust your crazy ideas - Mixed media panel for Finnabair

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Finnabair's blog with a mixed-media canvas board.

Photo: ArtHouseWhimsy

First, I primed the canvas board with White Heavy Gesso. Next, I selected some papers (old books mostly) which I glued with Soft Gloss Gel to the left side of the canvas. I added a thin layer of White Heavy Gesso to blend the papers. When dry, I added a design with 3D Gloss Gel and the Machinery Stencil. I painted the background with the Burnt Sienna liquid Acrylic when everything was dry.

I primed all the resin elements I've selected with White Heavy Gesso. I covered the gears with the Rust Effect Paste.

I used different blue waxes to color the Baroque Frame: Cobalt, Charcoal Black, and Midnight. I highlighted the details with Vintage Gold and Old Silver waxes.

For the other resin elements, I used Vintage Gold, Old silver, and  Charcoal Black waxes to remind the color of the gears I've removed from an old alarm clock.

I glued all the elements of the composition with the Heavy Body Gel. I highlighted the details with Vintage gold and Old Silver waxes. I used the Ink Black Liquid Acrylic to add some shadow where needed.

To finish, I added blue and gold glitter.
