Steampunk Girl - Mixed media Layout for 49 and Market DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market with a mixed media layout.

First, I've glued my Paper 4 from the Color Switch Toast collection to a cardboard as the composition will be heavy. I primed the background with clear gesso.

I primed all the resin elements with clear gesso. I painted the gears with a dark brown paint, then added some copper wax. I used only waxes for the feathers: first Charcoal a grey-blue matte wax, then a black one to darken the color, and finally the copper.

I colored the Celery Wildflowers with brown inks to obtain a color more suitable for my composition.

I selected a few Frames to add under my photo. Then I decided to add a white touch to the composition.  I chose some cards from the Envelope Bits set from the Color Swatch Toast collection.

I began the composition with the biggest elements: the gears and the feathers. Then I added the photo with the frames. I continued with the flowers. When happy with the result, I added a few Acetate Leaves and a couple of butterflies.

To finish, I added some glitter.

Coral - Canvas for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on dusty Attic blog with a canvas inspired by the May color combo.

Here is the beautiful color combo for May:

I primed the canvas with white gesso before adding a design with the Circle Dot stencil and paste. While the paper paste was still wet I sprinkled with embossing powder. I let it dry before heat embossing the powder.

I primed also all the chipboard with white gesso. I used different shades of brown to paint the Foliage #23 and the Leaves #5. I added White Gold wax to both and some Mahogany to the Leaves #5.

I painted the Dandelions with Nude and Carmin to match the color of the flowers. I painted the Marrakesh Treillis with Umber and add Copper wax when dry.

For my background, I want to obtain a color similar to the color of the wall that can be seen in the color combo, but I want to give it a dirtier look. So first, I painted the background with Umber liquid acrylic that I removed partially. When the paint was completely dry, I covered the whole canvas with a mix of antiquing waxes: Soot and Sepia. I added clear wax as well to dilute the color as I want the background to have a light shade of brownish grey. When done, I glued all the elements with 3D gel.

To finish, I added some glitter.

The Girl in the Water - Layout for Dusty Attic DT

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a simple layout.

I really want to keep the design of my layout very simple. I die-cut a few hexagons in papers from the same collection as my background.

I primed my selected chipboard with white gesso.

I colored them all with a Distress Oxide Spray matte finish like the Foliage #5, or a mix of the Distress Oxide Spray and Starbust that add some shine with the mica it contains like for the Foliage Cluster #2 and #3.

For the Wildflower #5, I used the same Distress Oxide Spray to color the branches and leaves, but I colored the flower buds with a Distress Oxide Spray with the same tone as the flowers.

I glued all the hexagons on a cardboard to rise them a little. Then, I started my composition: I glued first the hexagons, then I added the chipboard and flowers.
