Rochelle's Folie - Mixed media panel for Mixed Media Place

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Mixed Media Place blog where I've been inviting as a guest designer. I worked with a photomontage I made a while ago inspired by Almayer's Folie from Magritte.

Here is the beautiful mood board for your inspiration 

I began my project by gluing a piece of the Solar paper tissue with Soft Matte Gel. When dry, I covered it with clear gesso. I mixed some Frozen Lake mica powder with 3D Gloss gel to make a paste. I used this paste along with the Golden Dust Jewel paste and a stencil to add a design. 

When everything was dry, I colored the background with different liquid acrylic paints to match the colors of the photo. I mixed Prussian Blue, Ultramarine, and Violet to obtain the right shade of blue. For the sun part, I worked with True Yellow, Tiger Orange, and a hint of Carmine. 

Before gluing all the embellishments, I primed the resin elements with Black gesso and the metallic elements with clear gesso. To color the elements, I used waxes: the pipes with Charcoal Black wax, the frame with White Gold, and the flowers with Old Denim and Peacock.

Next, I applied Vintage Gold over everything but I was careful to give the impression of the light coming from the yellow part of the panel. 

To finish, I added glass glitter and glitter.

I'm thrilled to be a guest designer for Finnabair. Here is my project for the March Art Recipe.

Les régles sont très simple. le challenge consiste en une palette de couleurs et de produits. Vous devez respecter la palette de couleurs  et utliser au moins 2 des produits listés pour le challenge.

The rules are very simple. Each challenge consists of a color palette and products. You need to stick to the color palette and use at least 2 of the products listed in a challenge.

 The colors: dark green, latte brown, dark teal 

Avant de coller le papier Wilderness, j'ai protégé le panneau MDF avec du gesso blanc. Puis, j'ai ajouté un ùotif avec le pochoir Mind Games, j'ai utilisé l'Icing paste White Gold et la pâte Crushed Iced.

Before gluing the Wilderness paper, I primed the HDF panel with heavy white gesso. Next, I added a design with the Mind Games stencil, I used both the White Gold Icing paste and Crushed Ice Effect paste.

J'ai recouvert la fenêtre et quelques éléments en résine comme le cadre et la poignée avec du gesso noir, les autres avec du gesso transparent. Une fois sec, j'ai commencé ma composition avec les éléments les plus gros: le cadre et le bain à oiseau. Pour faire ce dernier, j'ai chauffé la poignée en résine et je l'ai ajusté autour d'une poignée en métal jusqu'à ce qu'elle refroidisse.

I primed the window and some resin elements like the frame and the handle with black gesso, the others with clear gesso. When it was done, I started to build the composition around the biggest elements: the frame and the birdbath. To make the latter, I heated the resin handle and pressed it around a metallic drawer handle until it cooled.

Une fois satisfaiite avec la composition, j'ai commencé par peindre les éléments en résine du set Aviary avec des acryliques liquides : Avocado Green pour les feuilles, Burnt Sienna pour les fleurs et Prussian Blue pour l'oiseau.

When I was happy with the composition, I started to paint the Aviary elements with liquid acrylic paint: Avocado Green for the leaves, Burnt Sienna for the flowers, and Prussian Blue for the bird.

J'ai coloré le bain à oiseau et le cadre avec les cires Patina Blue et Patina Green. Puis j'ai ajouté des cires métalliques : Bronze Age, Aged Brass et enfin White Gold pour faire ressortir les détails. J'ai utilisé les mêmes cires ainsi que l'Emerald pour colorer la fenêtre et l'oiseau. J'ai ajouté les cires Patina Green et White Gold sur les feuilles. 

I colored the birdbath and the frame with Patina Blue and Patina Green waxes . Then I added metallic waxes: Bronze Age, Aged Brass, and White gold to highlight the details. I used the same metallic waxes as well as the Emerald to color the window and the bird. I added some Patina Green and White Gold waxes to the leaves. 

J'ai coupé une morceau de rhodoïd aux dimensions de la fenête sur lequel j'ai ajouté un motuf avec le pochoir Read My Letter et de la pâte de texture. Un fois sec, je l'ai teinté avec la peinture Burnt Sienna. 

Une fois satisfaite, j'ai ajuté les derniers éléments de la composition: les fleurs, la fenêtre et les Mechanicals. 

I cut a piece of rhodoïd to add under the window. I added a design with the stencil Read My Letter and modeling paste. When dry, I colored it with the Burnt Sienna liquid paint.

Once satisfied, I added the last elements of the composition: the flowers, the window, and the Mechanicals. 

J'ai ombré le contour de la composition avec les peintures Burnt Sienna et Prussian Blue. Pour finir le panneau, j'ai ajouté des flocons de mica, des microbilles et des glitters. 

I added a shadow around the elements of the composition with the Burnt Sienna et Prussian Blue. To finish the panel, I added some mica flakes, microbeads, and glitters.

I'm up of My Creative Scrapbook blog with another layout made with the April's Limited Edition kit.

J'ai commencé par protéger le fond avec du gesso transparent. Une fois sec, j'ai ajouté plusieurs peintures que j'ai dilué pour obtenir un effet aquarelle.

I primed the background with clear gesso. When dry, I added different paints that I watered down to obtain a watercolor effect.

Pendant que le fond séché, j'ai découpé quelques feuilles dans un papier aquarelle.

While the background was drying, I die cut a few leaves in a watercolor paper.

J'ai peint le chipboard et les feuille avec la peinture Sparks Raven Black.

I paint the chipboard and the leaves with the Raven Black Sparks.

J'ai coupé quelques morceaux de papiers que j'ai ajouté sous la photo avec quelques "Ephemera". Puis j'ai ajouté les fleurs et les feuilles

I cut a few scrap of paper that I layered under the photo with some Ephemera. Then I added the flowers and the leaves.

J'ai terminé quelques mircobilles, glass glitter, perles de rocailles et sequins.

I finished with some micro beads, glass glitter, glass beads and sequins.

Today I'm up on My Creative Scrapbook blog with a layout made with the Limited Editon kit of April. 

J'ai commencé par protéger le fond avec du gesso transparent. puis j'ai ajouté une fine couche de gesso blnac. Une fois sec, j'ai ajouté un motif avec le pochoir et de la pâte à craqueler transparente J'ai laissé sécher naturellemnt pour obtenir de belles craquelures.

First I primed the background paper with clear gesso. Then Iadded un thin layer of white gesso. When dry, I added a design with the stencil and a Clear Crackle Paste. I let dry naturally to allow the crackle to appear.

Puis j'ai coloré cette zone avec des aquarelles grises et roses et une peinture acrylique rose.

Then I colored the area with gray and pink watercolors and a pink Art Alchemy.

J'ai empilé quelques cartes de la collection Rose Quartz pour les placer sous la photo.

I layered some cards from the Rose Quartz collection to add under the photo. 

J'ai collé quelques fleurs, des  "Ephemera" de la collection Rose Quartz et quelques morceaux de napperons.

I glued some flowers, some ephemera from the Rose Quartz collection, and a few scraps of a doily.

Pour finir, j'ai ajouté des microbilles et des glass glitters.

To finish I added some micro beads and glass glitters.

Aujourd'hui j'ai  un nouveau set de cartes réalisées avec le kit Limited Edition d'april de My Creative Scrapbook à vous présenter.

Today I have a new set of cards made with the April's Limited Edition from My Creative Scrapbook to share with you.

J'ai découpé des bandes dans le papier "You and Me" ainsi que dans les cartes de la collection Rose Quartz. Puis je l'ai collé sur le fond. Une fois satisfaite , j'ai couvert les bandes d'une fine couche de gesso blanc.

I cut a few strip of papers from the "You and Me" paper as well as from the Rose Quartz cards. Then I glued them on the background. When happy with the result, I covered them with a thin layer of white gesso. 

Une fois sec, j'ai tamponné ici et là avec de l'encre Archival noire, toujours sur les bandes de papiers. Puis j'ai ajouté de la couleur.

When dry, I stamped randomly with a black Archival ink, always on the strips of papers. Then I added some colors. 

J'ai ajouté un motif avec un pochoir et du gesso blanc. Une fois sec, j'ai rajouté de la couleur et des tâches.

I added a design with a stencil and white gesso. When dry I added more colors and splatters.

Pour finir, j'ai simplement ajouter quelques éléments: une fleur et des "Ephemeras".

To finish, I added a few elements: a flower and some Ephemeras.

Aujourd'hui je suis sur le blog de My Creative Scrapbook avec une nouvelle page réalisée avec Limited Edition kit d'avril. J'ai choisi une photo de mon grand-père et de a tante prise à la fin des années 50 à la fête foraine.

Today, I'm up on My Creative Scrapbook blog with a new layout made with the April's Limited Edition kit. I chose a photo from my proud grandfather and my aunt, taken at the end of the fifties at the funfair. 

J'ai commencé par protéger le fond avec du gesso transparent. Une fois sec, j'ai ajouté un motif à l'aide du pochoir et de pâte à craqueler transparente. Mais avant d'appliqur la pâte à travers le pochoir, j'ai coloré celui-ci avec des encres chalk. La pâte était légérement colorée.

First I primed the background with clear gesso. When dry, I added a design with the stencil and clear crackle paste. But before applying the crackle paste trough the stencil, I colored it with chalk inks. The crackle paste was lightly colored.

Pendant que la pâte séchait, j'ai coloré un papier aquarelle avec des aquarelles et une peinture acrylique. Puis j'ai tamponné les fleurs du set de tapons "Only You" avec une encre Archival noire. Puis je les ai découpées et j'ai peint les feuilles avec une peinture acrylique gris pour ajouter du contraste.

While the paste was drying, I colored a watercolor paper with watercolors and acrylic paint. Then I stamped all the flowers from the "Only you" stamp set with an Archival black ink. Then I fuzzy cut them and I painted the leaves with a gray acrylic paint to add some contrast.

J'ai découpé quelques morceaux de papiers pour mettre sous la photo.

I cut a few pieces of paper to add under the photo. 

J'ai collé quelques fleurs ainsi que les fleurs tamponnées et quelques tickets de lot Ephemera pour rappeler la fête foraine.

I glued a few flowers along with the stamped flowers and a few Ephemera tickets to remind the carnival.

J'ai terminer la mise en page avec des projections de glitters argent, mélangé avec du gel brillant et de l'eau.

I finished the layout with splatters of silver glitters, mixed with a gloss gel and water.
