Trust your crazy ideas - Mixed media panel for Finnabair

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Finnabair's blog with a mixed-media canvas board.

Photo: ArtHouseWhimsy

First, I primed the canvas board with White Heavy Gesso. Next, I selected some papers (old books mostly) which I glued with Soft Gloss Gel to the left side of the canvas. I added a thin layer of White Heavy Gesso to blend the papers. When dry, I added a design with 3D Gloss Gel and the Machinery Stencil. I painted the background with the Burnt Sienna liquid Acrylic when everything was dry.

I primed all the resin elements I've selected with White Heavy Gesso. I covered the gears with the Rust Effect Paste.

I used different blue waxes to color the Baroque Frame: Cobalt, Charcoal Black, and Midnight. I highlighted the details with Vintage Gold and Old Silver waxes.

For the other resin elements, I used Vintage Gold, Old silver, and  Charcoal Black waxes to remind the color of the gears I've removed from an old alarm clock.

I glued all the elements of the composition with the Heavy Body Gel. I highlighted the details with Vintage gold and Old Silver waxes. I used the Ink Black Liquid Acrylic to add some shadow where needed.

To finish, I added blue and gold glitter.

Embrace beautiful chaos - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today, I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a mixed-media canvas.

First, I primed the canvas with white gesso. When done, I covered the background with paper and light modeling pastes to add more interest. Then I added a design with the Dots Stencil and white crackle paste. I let it dry naturally to allow the crackles to appear.

I primed all the chipboard with white gesso. I glued a piece of paper on the Jigsaw Pieces, then covered them with clear crackle paste.

I built my composition to my linking starting with the Jigsaw pieces, then I add the biggest elements such as the Flower Buds #1 and the Spring Blooms #3.

Next, I added the Dandelions and I finished with the Poppy Heads.

When everything was completely dry, I added some color with black and brown liquid acrylic paints and a lot of water.

To finish, I added some transparent glitter and a title.

You are awesome - Layout for 49 and market

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on 49 and Market blog with a layout created with the Academia collection from our brand new designer Dennis Brutton.

For my background, I chose the Congratulations sheet. It's really a simple paper, but just what I want. With a stencil and black Distress ink, i added some text in the background.

I selected some Die Cut Elements: a couple of cabinets, some geometry equipment, a few labels, ..

I also added some Laser Cut Elements: the lamp bulbs at the top of the layout and a few leaves. What can I say, I couldn't help myself to add something related to nature :)

I added a few rub ons too.

To finish, I added some splatters.

49 and Market products:
  • Academia - 12x12 Paper Collection Pack
  • Academia - Congratulations
  • Academia - Die Cut Elements
  • Academia - Laser Cut Elements
  • Academia - Rub-on Transfers
That's it for today, I hope you find some inspiration.

Shine Brightly - Mixed media canvas for Dusty Attic

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new canvas.

First I primed the canvas with white gesso, then added a design with the Fosiilised Stencil and modeling paste. When the modeling paste was completely dry, I covered the whole canvas with clear and white crackle paste, I was careful to remove all excess of the crackle pastes to allow the design to show. I let it dry naturally to allow the crackle to appear.

I painted the canvas with coral and Prussian blue liquid acrylic paints when the pastes were dry.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. For the Floral Corners, I decided to use only copper, Firebird, and honey waxes.

I painted the Wildflowers #3 with the same colors of liquid acrylic paints I used for the background. For the Tea Leaves and the Mini Foliage #5, I used a combination of liquid acrylic paints and waxes.

I colored the flowers with diluted coral paint and distressed the edges with brown Distress ink.

To finish, I added some gold and copper glitters.
